Peter Lorre and Smiley Burnette --- A Natural Combination

Questions arise as I ponder this Columbus, Ohio booking from 1944 ---

1. Did Peter's agent happen to mention Smiley's presence on the bill when
he told his client about this particular gig?
2. Were there discourteous rubes in the audience that yelled "Hey ---
Where's Frog?," while Peter was essaying his "dramatic skit"?
3. Was Smiley tempted, if not encouraged, by patrons to do his beloved
"frog" shtick immediately offstage while Peter recited "The
Man With A Glass Head"?
4. Did Peter exit the theater hastily lest he be asked to use his influence
to get Frog's autograph?

These are inquiries that might well have arisen in 1944. They are still vital questions today! But alas, I suppose answers to some mysteries must be forever locked in the past.
